It’s that time of the week where we tell you our favorite underrated new releases! This week’s list features Landon Cube, NoCap, IDK, ROLE MODEL, and NJOMZA and Louis the Child.

Diamonds & Dirt Roads (feat NoCap) – Landon Cube

Landon Cube and NoCap rap and sing about how they came into their lavish lifestyles in “Diamonds & Dirt Roads”. “Nothin’ shine harder than a diamond in dirt road/I skipped school for the studio/Graduated then I went gold”. NoCap adds his perspective on coming from rags to riches in his verse. “I took a risk with Cubans/I came from handcuffs.” This rock-influenced song is motivational and great to listen to if you ever need a boost of encouragement to follow your dreams. Landon Cube and NoCap are a dynamic duo we didn’t know we needed until “Diamonds & Dirt Roads”. 

Over You – NJOMZA and Louis the Child

NJOMZA and Louis the Child come together to sing about a relationship gone bad in “Over You”. “How’d we go from a dream/And now I stay up all night, I’m losing sleep over you/I’m supposed to be over you.” Louis the Child’s chill pop production paired with NJOMZA’s delicate and nostalgic vocals is a match made in heaven. Play this song at a lowkey house party or in your room when you’re trying to get over your ex. NJOMZA and Louis the Child’s “Over You” is a relatable chill banger. 

Radioactive – IDK

IDK steps out of his comfort zone with drill banger “Radioactive”. His versatile flow on this beat makes the song stand out. “Hop in a freak, go infinity/Up on a shirt where you finna be/Heard that you said you gon’ finish me/Why he be movin’ so finicky?” The intricate production on this song is great as well. From IDK’s vocals going from a radio effect to full volume to the Glock sound effects throughout the song, IDK’s message is communicated perfectly. Listen to this song in the gym during a high-intensity workout or in the club. IDK’s “Radioactive” is worth a listen.

a little more time – ROLE MODEL 

ROLE MODEL gets vulnerable with “a little more time”. In his first single of 2023, he sings about how spending time with his girlfriend Emma Chamberlain, helps him get through the day when he’s depressed. The acoustic instrumental is happy-go-lucky, contrasting with the dark lyrics, making this song heartfelt. “You say we’re miserable together/That’s all that gets me out of bed.” The music video, directed by him and Emma, is lighthearted and authentic. It showcases ROLE MODEL performing the song along with goofy moments between him and Emma. Listen to this song when you’re chilling out on the beach or when you’re cleaning your house on a Sunday morning. ROLE MODEL’s “a little more time” is a heartfelt song that’ll be on repeat.
