Happy August! This week’s picks of our favorite new releases features new music from Skizzy Mars, DWLLRS, Monroe Jordan and NIA NADURATA.

Skizzy Mars – Say Something

Skizzy Mars runs into uncertainty with an ex-friend in his new song, “Say Something”. In this melodic alternative-rap song, Skizzy reunites with an ex-friend he’s had a history with, and he wants to talk about their past issues and see where they’ll go next. “It’s 2 AM, we’re still out / So tell me where we’re going out / Let’s pretend, we’re still friends / Without any of the benefits / It’s 2 AM, we’re still out / So tell me where we’re going / Just say something now.” Skizzy’s chill but vulnerable vocals paired with the nostalgic poppy alternative instrumental makes this song a crossover hit. Listen to this song while riding home in the sunset or in your room when you’re reminiscing on old friendships. Skizzy Mars’ “Say Something” is a catchy heartfelt song that could break into the mainstream.

DWLLRS – Ease

DWLLRS minds are never at “Ease” in their new chill pop song. No matter what they do, Brendan and Joey can’t stop their minds from racing. “Late in the night time, I try to let go / Truth lies, in my mind I’ll never let it go / My heads a fire inside my dreams / My minds never at ease.” Their raspy and frustrated vocals over the chill acoustic and electronic instrumental make this song a vibey banger. Listen to this song when you’re up late overthinking or on a road trip for the ultimate dreamy vibes. DWLLRS’ “Ease” is a calming pop song that’s relatable and easy to listen to.

Monroe Jordan – Gaslight

Monroe calls out his ex on her flaws and explains why he tries to sabotage their relationship. “Never been the type to open up / Always come up with a lie just to get out a rut / Now I’m giving you excuses just to break sh*t up / always living in the past, that ain’t healthy much.” Monroe’s airy vocals and direct rhymes over the soft electric guitar instrumental makes this song an unconventional hit. Listen to this song on a cold summer morning or at a chill kickback with friends. Monroe Jordan’s “Gaslight” is a chill catchy hit that’ll stay stuck in our heads.
