This week’s list of our favorite new releases features new music from Khary, YOG$ and AKTHESAVIOR, Aaron Taos, Dell Mac and Jordano.
Khary & YOG$ – Am I (feat AKTHESAVIOR)
Khary and AKTHESAVIOR rap about overcoming their struggles in their new song, “Am I”. In this lo-fi-inspired rap song, Khary raps about how he persevered through depression to chase his dreams. “My future in alignment, I know that / Almost had a n*gga on the Prozac / Passing out L’s like hold that, I can never go back / Grateful and I’m finding ways to show that / The man in the mirror took a Kodak.” Khary’s introspective flows and AKTHESAVIOR’s self-reflective flows combine to make an inspirational banger. Along with the chill, bright instrumental produced by YOG$, this song is pure motivation to go after what you desire most. Khary, YOG$ and AKTHESAVIOR are an unstoppable trio, and “Am I” gives listeners hope that anything is possible through resilience.
Aaron Taos – you won’t…
Aaron Taos hopes for a second chance in his new song, “you won’t…”. In this chill alternative song, Aaron regrets not appreciating his ex-partner and doesn’t want them to move on so they can get back together and try again. “And you won’t / But if you came calling I’d come right back home / I took you for granted, oh goddamn it don’t / Move on too far, I’m not letting go.” Aaron’s introspective verses and desperate pleas in the chorus, along with the acoustic percussion-heavy instrumental makes this song a hit. Listen to this song while you’re chilling at home or on a weekend morning doing chores. Aaron Taos’ “you won’t…” is catchy; you’ll be singing along after the first listen.
Dell Mac – Eyes On You
Dell Mac keeps his eyes on God in his new single, “Eyes On You”. In this Christian rap song, Dell Mac looks to God to keep him afloat while chasing his dreams. “They said it’s sink or swim / Your presence keeps me afloat / Don’t wanna see me win / Rather sell me into slavery and steal my coat / But Lord, Your favor is a shield around me / Silence all the peers around me / Eyes on you / I keep my eyes on you.” Dell Mac’s passionate, powerful melodies and encouraging lyrics with a detailed inspirational instrumental make this song rememberable. Listen to this song whenever you need encouragement to keep going. Dell Mac’s “Eyes On You” gives a serene, modern twist to Christian music.
Jordano – Emotions
Jordano is feeling all kinds of “Emotions” in her new single. In this R&B-EDM crossover song, Jordano is scared to fall in love and it’s making her feel crazy. “Let you touch my skin just to make me feel somethin’, yeah / That’s just how it goes, yeah I’m used to feeling nothing / But I can’t let you in / Nothing over here withstand all the walls that I put up, up for your protection.” Jordano’s fiery vocals over the euphoric instrumental make this song a bop. Listen to this song at a house party or before a girl’s night out. Jordano’s “Emotions” shows us that feelings are complicated, but this song will stay in our rotation.
